Our client, a modern brewery in Greece, is looking to recruit a Production Director, to manage the whole of production, including Malting, Brewing, Packaging, Engineering and Quality, to produce high quality beer at the right time and price, in a safe and environmentally conscious way.

Areas of Responsibility:

  • Lead Production to World Class standards through the implementation of Total Quality Management (TQM) and a Total Productive Maintenance system.
  • Ensure safety, housekeeping, environmental and quality standards and procedures are maintained at all times across all operational areas.
  • Develop and implement Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) across Production and proactively manage to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Support the Malting, Brewing, Packaging, Engineering and Quality Managers in their personal development as managers and leaders through a performance management system.
  • Develop, set and manage fixed, variable and capital budgets for all Production departments.
  • Act as lead decision maker on major capital investments.
  • Lead production planning processes to ensure efficient use of all company assets and that production volumes are delivered with suitable stockholdings that meet Sales requirements.
  • Set the brewing culture for the company.

Experience and Qualifications:

  • Relevant technical degree (e.g., science, brewing, engineering).
  • IBD Diploma in Brewing qualification, IBD Master Brewer qualification, or similar brewing qualification.
  • Business qualifications such as an MBA would be well regarded.
  • At least 10 years of proven management experience with 5 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Preferably from a brewing background with a working knowledge across all areas of production although will consider candidates with excellent FMCG manufacturing experience.
  • Direct experience with financial management in a production environment.
  • Experience managing and developing teams.
  • Experience managing major capital upgrades and commissioning.
  • Experience implementing World Class Manufacturing principles.
  • Greek language useful with English speaking required.
